About the Trainer: Vada Welsh
Vada has been riding and training in the Central Ohio area for over 30 years. She started her riding career in Saddlebreds and then went on to Hunters and now Jumpers, with some Dressage and Eventing thrown in.
Her experience and knowledge come from years of being taught by a variety of instructors in a variety of disciplines and levels and constant involvement in a wide range of horsemanship, from total horse care, training, teaching and always learning. She is constantly striving for new information, new methods, new and better ways of doing things without losing sight of the tried and true methods. She teaches beginners all the way to advanced riders.
She encourages her students to attend clinics from other trainers, local and national, including George Morris. She herself has attended clinics from George Morris, Anne Kurskinski, Tod Minikus, Greg Best and others. Her motivation is to help a student be able to not only ride at the level they wish, but to know how they got there; to teach students to know the reasons "why" and "how" and how to apply the skills that they have learned to any horse that they ride. For those competitive students, she can take them to the next level quickly, but only if they are willing to commit to the work involved. All in all, she can explain the basics so you can have fun on your trail rides or she is willing to commit to giving you the time and detailed training and couching that you will need if you want to be competitive at the A shows.
